Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost?
$175 per session ($220 in Alberta). The first 20-minute consultation is free. There are no packages.
Is it covered by insurance?
Many extended health plans cover psychotherapy or counselling. Coverage depends on your plan and your therapist's designation, so check with your provider. We give detailed receipts.
Do you provide psilocybin or any other psychedelic?
No. P.A.T.H. provides psychotherapy only. We don't sell, supply, prescribe, administer, dose or supervise psilocybin or any other psychedelic, and we don't recommend sources, retreats or facilitators.
What does P.A.T.H. do?
P.A.T.H. is an online psychotherapy practice. We offer integration therapy after a psychedelic or ketamine experience, everyday therapy for everything else, and preparation therapy for people thinking an experience through.
Is psilocybin legal in Canada?
Psilocybin is a controlled substance in Canada. Legal access is limited to approved clinical trials, Health Canada's Special Access Program through a physician, and individual exemptions from Health Canada. You can read Health Canada's information here. P.A.T.H. does not arrange access through any of these routes.
Will a therapist be with me during a psychedelic experience?
No. P.A.T.H. therapists are never present for, on call during, or supervising a psychedelic experience. Our work happens in scheduled therapy sessions before and after.
What is integration therapy?
It's psychotherapy after an experience that has already happened. Your therapist helps you make sense of what came up, work through anything that was hard or unsettling, and figure out what you want to do with it in everyday life.
Is my personal information kept confidential?
Yes, we take your privacy seriously. Your personal information and therapy sessions are kept confidential in accordance with strict ethical and legal standards. Your privacy is a top priority for us.
