P.A.T.H. Retreat Preparation and Integration Therapy
Therapy before you go, and after you come home
A psychedelic experience can feel profound.
Work with the same registered therapist before you leave and after you return, with space to prepare, make sense of what happened and consider what you want to carry forward.

- Online across Canada
- $175 per session
- Receipts for extended health benefits
P.A.T.H. provides psychotherapy around a retreat you arrange independently.
The retreat ends. What comes next still matters.
A psychedelic experience can bring powerful emotions, unexpected memories, new perspectives or a sense of clarity that is difficult to put into words.
Then you come home.
Back to your relationships, responsibilities, routines and the life that was waiting for you.
P.A.T.H. gives you somewhere to bring the whole experience: what you hoped for beforehand, what happened while you were there and what you want to carry forward now that you are home.
You can begin before you travel, after you return, or months later if something still feels unfinished.
This is registered psychotherapy, not coaching.

One therapist on both sides of the experience
The therapist who helps you prepare is the same therapist who is there when you come home.
They already know your history, what brought you to the retreat, what you hoped to explore and what concerned you beforehand.
So when you return, you do not have to start again explaining the context.
You can continue the conversation from where you left it.
Before you go
It is normal to feel excited and nervous at the same time.
You may have spent months thinking about this and committed considerable time, money and hope to going.
Preparation gives you space to slow things down before you arrive.
With your therapist, you can explore why you are going and clarify the intention you want to carry into the experience.
Not as a script for what should happen, but as a point of orientation: what matters to you, what you are curious about and what you hope to understand more clearly.
You can also:
- talk through hopes, nerves and expectations
- explore parts of your history that feel relevant
- identify patterns or questions you want to approach with curiosity
- develop grounding tools you can draw on if the experience becomes intense or unfamiliar
- consider useful questions for your retreat facilitators
- think ahead about the support you want when you return home
Preparation is not about controlling the experience.
It gives you space to understand why you are going, become clearer about your intention, talk through concerns, feel more grounded and develop tools you can draw on during the experience and afterwards.
Why preparation matters
Preparation is a standard part of psychedelic-assisted therapy research.
A review of 12 clinical trials found that more preparation time was linked with greater reductions in depressive symptoms.
It is not proof of cause, but it supports the value of taking time to prepare well.
After you come home
The experience itself may last hours.
Making sense of it can take much longer.
You may return with clarity, questions, emotion, a different perspective on your life, or simply the sense that something happened that deserves attention.
Integration gives you somewhere to explore that without being told what it should mean.
What felt important?
What surprised you?
What still does not make sense?
With your therapist, you can explore the useful, beautiful, confusing and difficult parts of the experience and consider how, if at all, you want to carry them into your relationships, choices and everyday life.
You do not have to turn every moment into a lesson.
You do not have to decide immediately what it meant.
The work is simply to give the experience the attention it deserves and explore what, if anything, you want to do with it now.
Sometimes clarity takes time
Not every experience leaves you with a neat conclusion.
You may come home feeling changed.
You may come home uncertain.
You may feel grateful, emotional, surprised, disappointed or simply unsure what to make of it.
There is no correct reaction.
Therapy gives you a private place to talk through what happened at your own pace, without being told what you should have experienced or what conclusions you should draw.
