Finding a qualified therapist

Whoever you work with, it's worth checking that they're registered with a regulator or professional body. Most have a public register you can search by name. Depending on your province, that may include:

  • your provincial college of psychologists
  • your provincial college of social workers
  • in Ontario, the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
  • in British Columbia, the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors
  • across Canada, the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (for Canadian Certified Counsellors)

Your extended health plan can tell you which credentials it covers.

Psilocybin and the law in Canada

Psilocybin is a controlled substance in Canada and is not an approved treatment. This page is general information, not medical advice and not a recommendation to use any substance.
